It had been a long time since I was living in the countryside, and I was in for an awakening.
I am one of those people who as a kid longed to get away from my home area. It was a largely farming community with huge dairy farms. Everything about the community was about milk and farming crops to sustain the demand for grains. I did like the work when I was a kid, helping mom, dad and my grandparents on the farm. However, teen years came with makeup and a desire to live in the city underneath the bright lights. So, I made sure to choose a college far away and only went back to the farm occasionally. It was 16 years later and I felt tired of the chaos of urban living and longed for the serenity of a rural dwelling. When the pandemic hit, I took that as my sign to leave my uptown apartment and seek a farm with a house and about 10 acres of land. I didn’t go back home, but to a different state where I found the exact space. The only issue was this house needed upgrading. I had to take care of the HVAC system which was practically non-existent in the farmhouse. The previous owners relied on a window AC for summer, and a huge wood stove during winter. But, I wanted a touch of modernity so I opted for a furnace and an AC for my home. There was a local HVAC company in the area offering both HVAC and plumbing that I found perfect for all the installation jobs.
