We Needed To Cool The Second Floor

As I was tucking my daughter into bed the other night, I realized how hot it was in her room! My partner and I have a bedroom on the first floor, so my buddy and I don’t often realize how warm it gets in her room.

I forget how heat rises because I’m not the one sleeping on the second floor.

I turned the thermostat down a few degrees on the thermostat, but then it was too freezing in our room, then the drop in temperature didn’t even affect our daughter’s room! When I brought it up with my partner, my buddy and I agreed to brainstorm ideas. We wanted to cool our daughter’s room on the second floor, but my buddy and I didn’t know the best way to do it. My partner called the local Heating and Air Conditioning supplier and asked them for their opinion. They gave us two options, first, they advocated adding a ductless mini system into her bedroom. This was the cheapest way to cool her room without affecting the rest of the house. The ductless equipment was a standalone equipment that connected to the wall and switched on and off with a small remote. The more lavish option was to add another zone to our house by adding an additional thermostat to the second floor. We could set the thermostat to a odd temperature for the entire second floor, but it would be a part of our central Heating and Air Conditioning plan… After carefully considering both options, my buddy and I decided to install the zone control. It would increase the value of our house and keep the entire second floor at a acceptable temperature. We planned on having teenagers in the future and my buddy and I didn’t want to add more ductless mini systems into each bedroom.
