Never getting rid of trusty HVAC system

I feel like everyone is always trying to get the biggest, best, and newest thing on the market, all the time. No one is ever happy with what they have or attempting to make their old belongings last for a longer span of time; instead, people these days would rather just keep shelling out money for the coolest new junk. I don’t understand this at all, because I am the complete opposite. I hate spending money and I don’t like to invest in products when I don’t know what I’m going to get. It seems like most brand new, fancy technological devices end up breaking within a tragically short period of time, and then you’re entirely out of cash and options. Personally, I would rather hang on to whatever equipment I already have. That way I’m familiar with all of it’s particularities and I always have cash on reserve to buy something new when it fails. This is exactly how I feel about my trusty old HVAC system at home. Everyone who comes over comments on my strange temperature control devices, because all of my air conditioning and heating devices have unique quirks to make them operate properly. My friends and family ask when I’m finally going to get an updated heating and cooling plan with fancy technologies such as a smart thermostat or zone controlled heating, but I’m in no hurry to get rid of my old ventilation equipment. Sure, it’s not always the easiest task to modify the indoor air conditions, but at least I know what I’m getting into each day.
