My HVAC customer laughed at me when I fell off of her porch

I guess I was distracted because of that and I somehow ended up getting tripped up on my work boots and the rug on the front porch

My customer laughed at me when I fell off of her porch the other day. I was just there minding my own business and trying to get the oil furnace at her house up and running again when I tripped up on my own feet and I fell right off of her front porch. Thank goodness the porch wasn’t very high off the ground or I might have killed myself while on the job! I had already been working at her house on the oil furnace in her basement for a couple of hours when this happened. I had gone upstairs and onto the porch because I was heading out to the HVAC truck parked in the driveway. I needed to get a part for the oil furnace. I was thinking about what I needed to get done and how I could leave to go get my lunch as soon as I finished installing the part. I guess I was distracted because of that and I somehow ended up getting tripped up on my work boots and the rug on the front porch. Then I pitched headlong right into the flower bed that was next to the front porch. I wasn’t injured, but I barely missed whacking my head against a cement garden gnome that was holding an umbrella next to her garden fence. I thought that at least no one had seen me, but that’s when I heard my HVAC customer laughing like crazy behind me from the front door! I was so embarrassed, but then it also made me mad when I realized that she was laughing without even knowing if I was okay or not.
