My mom and dad were academics and I loved that about them. They were both super smart people who had a total and all encompassing passion for their field of study. Teaching at a university also comes with a nice paycheck, but our new home was pretty normal. I grew up with typical heating and cooling device for comfort. It was a enjoyable way to grow up, however, I did not follow my folks into academia. Instead, I went into the business world. However, my fiance and I ended up having more than two kids in a more than three home office house. It’s nice that it worked out so all the kids have their own room. It was the perfect use of a space that had been finished off by the previous owner, but now, I have some quiet and a space where I can read, write or even work from home. The ductless heat pump provides all the heating and cooling comfort that I need. It’s not my father’s study but, it’s not too bad either.
