His mom and I were thrilled to be able to offer him a good landing spot with great quality heating and air.
I so felt for our youngest son. That kid has dealt with more challenges in his short time on this planet then seem fair. And yet, he is just so resilient and able to keep pressing on. The latest challenge came just three years of graduating from the radiant heating of the dorm room to his own apartment. He was able to get a great job right after he finished college. Our son was so happy to finally be doing what he had his heart set on doing. I was impressed that he went with a small, cheaper apartment to save money for a house. The apartment was okay but the heating and cooling wasn’t the best. Plus, it was cramped and the nextdoor neighbors were loud as well. But he was thrilled to be on his own and starting his adult life. That all got shot down due to the pandemic. After his company sent everyone home from inside the zone controlled HVAC of the office to work from home, the layoffs began. I was hoping that he’d survive but I also knew that was probably unlikely. Sure enough, he got pink slipped and it was over. He held on a few more months. But when his lease was up, he had to bite the bullet and come home. His mom and I were thrilled to be able to offer him a good landing spot with great quality heating and air. Shortly after he went off to college, we sold the big family home for a smaller, more sustainable place. But it has a small, finished basement. We had the HVAC company install a ductless heat pump in there and made that our kid’s new apartment.
