The winter season is finally here once again.
I am so excited because the wintertime has regularly been the number one season for several reasons. The first reason is it’s really cold, as I’ve regularly been someone that likes the cold weather. And while the summers are brutally quite hot here, when winter comes around all that nasty heat goes away. Then again, I have to go and repair our heater, however I do not mind fixing our gas furnace because taking care of the heater is much easier than fixing our a/c units. The second reason I love the winter weather is because of how pretty it is. In my opinion, it’s the most elegant season of all, with all the blankets of fluffy snow covering the ground, it just looks like a lovely white winter wonderland. The third reason that winter is the number one season for me is because it’s the family holiday season, and I really love celebrating the holidays with my big family. Every year I go over to our parents’ home where we all sit around the old fireplace and open gifts during Christmas break. My parents have this really big traditional fireplace that is surrounded in stones and rocks. When I was a little one, I used to fall asleep in front of that fireplace during the winter season break. And having Christmas with my old parents while resting in front of that same fireplace brings back all those fond memories, such as how I’d be so wiped out after opening all those gifts, and then I would fall asleep in front of the warmth of the crackling fire. Those afternoons are more like heaven and I really wish I could go back sometimes. But at the same time, I still like that I am going home every year and that I am going to celebrate Christmas, as well as some good quality family time. In my opinion, it’s small things like that which really make a difference in life. That fireplace might be something simple, but it has added so much to my life. I love that old fireplace and I am happy that our lovely parents have a traditional fireplace instead of something like an electric or gas fireplace. While electric fireplaces are cool, I do not think they are as good as a traditional fireplace.
