For the past week I’ve noticed that every time I walk into my home I’ve been feeling sick, however for a while I was thinking that it was just dust sensitivities but then I started attaching the dots that I only started to feel this way when I walked into my home and I did not feel this way when I was outside; I thought that maybe it was just because my air filter has not been changed, I had not used a HEPA filter in quite a while and those are absolutely good at keeping my indoor air quality clean, and the times when I have not used them I’ve had problems with my dust sensitivities acting up and so I put in a modern HEPA filter thinking that would take care of the issue, however, I found that even when I was over at a friend’s home or at my family’s place I was no longer having symptoms.
It did not make any sense to me.
I could not understand why even with the HEPA filter, I was having these symptoms. I was beginning to think that I was going to need to make an appointment with my dentist, but then I decided to go ahead and try one more thing first. I had not checked on my HVAC ducts in a while and so I decided to schedule an appointment with a local heating and A/C supplier and have them come out and take a look at it. I wanted to see if it was something that could be in the HVAC that was causing it, then when the heating and cooling worker came out of here he took one look at my heat and A/C HVAC ducts and he told me that I had mold in there. I was shocked and horrified at the same time! I had been breathing in mold spores this entire time, no wonder I was feeling so sick. I had the HVAC ducts cleaned particularly thoroughly and I stayed out of my home for a week before returning… Once I returned everything was back to normal and I could live in my home once again.
