There is a small gym in the corporate headquarters that I’m now using.
So the cost of a membership to the local gym just went up again this year. Just like everything else that I spend my currency on, the gym has been hiking their rates as well. This year, that just didn’t work out for me. I’ve belonged to this local gym for five years. That’s when I moved here from the big city. I now work in the zone controlled Heating & Air Conditioning of our corporate offices. That’s where I had consistently wanted my work to wind up. But our corporate offices are out in the boonies. I live in a small town now in a home with a great central a/c after living my whole life in apartments in an immense city. It’s an immense change although I sure do prefer being a homeowner… Having a wonderful central a/c, 10 acres of land & a short commute is awesome… Yet, living in such a small town can also come with limited choices. This was the greatest bummer when I moved here. And the local gym with its bad heating & cooling is a wonderful example. I couldn’t believe that the local gym was raising the rates again this year. They added nothing to the value of the gym membership. And this was after a promise that the commercial Heating & Air Conditioning would be fully replaced. That commercial Heating & Air Conditioning is just the worst & I just couldn’t justify spending any more currency for worse a/c. There is a small gym in the corporate headquarters that I’m now using. The a/c is far better even if there are a limited number of workout machines. I just go in there to do my resistance training. Then, I get out of the a/c to do cardio by myself with hiking & biking outside.
