For sure, it’s almost like winter time never quite ends for me.
Throughout the year, I’m either experiencing the fierce winter time weather of this region or I’m preparing for it.
I’m now fully into Spring and next will be Summer. This is the most pleasant time of the year when it comes to weather and temperature. The oil furnace has been turned off now for some time. I uncovered the Heating, Ventilation and A/C component and I contacted the Heating, Ventilation and A/C business to set up the a/c tune up. Covering the Heating, Ventilation and A/C component outside the home is something I do as the final step of winter time prep before the temps drop. The cover keeps the weight of snow and ice off the fan and other parts of the cooling unit. My home has air conditioning and having a heat pump is the best. While I don’t get months of heat and humidity like folks way down south, it’s awesome to have the cooling comfort when I come inside. While the oil furnace is done for the year and the temperatures are only going to rise, I’m now in the beginning of my winter time prep. To save on heating bills and take some of the load off the gas boiler, I use a wood stove for supplementary heating. Back in the day, that wood stove was just for emergency heating. But with a bit more effort from me during the Summer, I can get enough wood in my home to feed that wood stove on a yearly basis throughout the Winter. It’s worth the effort and besides, it’s such a good time of the year to be outside.
