Nothing could change my mind about HVAC technical school.

I wasn’t sure if I wanted to be an HVAC technician when I was growing up.

My brother was an HVAC technician and he was hoping I would join him.

He thought we should open an HVAC company and give the only one in our area some competition. I thought that was a great idea, but I was still thinking I wanted to do something else. Mom was always taking me to beauty contests and parading me around. I was the picture of femininity and grace, but I was tired of it. I wanted to get a broken nail, see my clothing get dirty, or do something that wouldn’t please my mom. I knew being an HVAC technician would be the perfect thing to do, but I wanted to want to be an HVAC technician. In my graduation year of high school, mom was already planning for my college, and how to get me into the Miss America contests, and go further with the pageants. We were walking into the dress shop, when I stopped. I told her no more. I didn’t wanted to be a beauty queen. I wanted to be an HVAC technician and own an HVAC company with my brother. She looked at me and told me that beautiful girls didn’t become HVAC technicians. I didn’t care what she thought. I had finally decided I wanted to be an HVAC technician and nothing could change my mind. She told me she wouldn’t pay for it. I had plenty of money in the bank from all my pageant winnings, and I didn’t need her money. I was going to HVAC school after high school graduation.
