When my husband started looking for a new air conditioning unit for our bedroom, the first thing he did was go on ebay.
I told him to go to the home center website.
We could get a bargain, and look at the AC unit before we bought it. He told me we wouldn’t get as good a deal at the home center as we could on amazon or ebay. I rolled my eyes and walked. Later that evening, he told me he bought an air conditioning unit, and it only cost $99.99 with free shipping. I told him it was probably an air conditioner for a child’s playhouse, and he walked away. He mumbled something about my not trusting his judgement, and I silently agreed. I looked at the China he bought me to match our wedding china and it was really pretty. It was also child-size and made for teddy bear picnics. I thought about the pepsi refrigerator he bought for the basement. It was a Christmas ornament and not a real refrigerator. He should have known if he had seen the Polar bear on top. He said he thought it was just for effect. I could only imagine what kind of air conditioning unit he had just bought. A week later, there was a package in the mail. I knew it couldn’t be the air conditioning unit, because it was only a feet wide on every side, and two feet high. He came running in and looked at the box. I pulled out this personal air conditioner that needed water, and told him it was our bedroom air conditioner. I thought he was going to cry.
