A new facial spa opened in town, and I wanted to go.
I had won two free day passes for the facial spa at work.
I begged my husband to go to the facial spa with me, but he said no. There was no way I was going to convince him to get a facial. Facials were for effeminate men and women. He was neither. I called my sister and told her about my two free day passes to the facial spa. I asked if she would like to go with me and enjoy an afternoon away from home. When we got to the spa, we weren’t sure what to expect, but they were greeted everyone with day passes with a glass of champagne and a free robe. We were showed to the changing room where we put on our robes and took off our outer clothing. They gave us slippers to wear for our comfort and to make it easier for our pedicure. I loved the facial spa, and we walked out of there feeling like millionaires. On the way home, we bought new dresses and shoes to match, and planned for a night out on the town, with or without our husbands. When I walked in the house, my husband told me I looked phenomenal and relaxed. I told him I got the works from head to toe. He looked crestfallen when he saw my manicure and pedicure. He said he would have gone to the facial spa with me if he had known we were getting mani/pedis.
