Occasionally I make awful decisions when it comes to fixing things around the house.
I constantly feel like I’m able to repair everything myself, however that’s easily just not the case, but honestly, the truth of the matter is that I don’t easily know how to repair many things around the new home at all. I mean, I guess how to repair the ice maker and the vacuum and that’s just about it. I constantly thought that I would marry a guy who would be great at fixing things, however now I’m divorced! Not only that, however my ex was actually an idiot who could barely figure out how to turn on the microwave without my help. I am now at the mercy of the handymen and local trade workers who guess how to repair things like the large appliances and the plumbing in my house. Without them, I know my new home would actually end up falling apart. It’s a nice thing that most of the time the repairs that I have to have done are not all that fancy. However, last week, I observed that my heating plan was not finally working properly and I decided that I was going to try and repair it myself. I just did not want to have to spend the money to get the furnace fixed professionally, and that was a huge mistake. I should have known better than to try and mess around with the furnace myself. I ended up making the problem even worse and I had to spend more money on the local Heating and A/C business than I actually would have if I had just called them to begin with.
