It had been the scariest moment in our lives, then a fire had broken out in our home and caused significant damage.
A fortnight later, after taking care of the damaged area and replacing many things, the home still smelled of smoke.
The indoor air pollen levels were wanting to the point that we did not look forward to returning home. We had even replaced the air filter, but it did little to service the situation. Our buddy advocated we look for an HVAC serviceman specializing in air quality systems. We were blessed that the fire had not reached the A/C system! Purchasing a new cooling machine on top of the losses we had already suffered would have been too much! When the specialist from the home repair provider came, he inspected the entire upgrade. He told us that the vents had dirt plus grime, and duct cleaning was vital. When I asked him how that was possible when we officially changed the air filter, he told me they needed cleaning every more than two or 3 years, just like every mechanical part. He also advocated we consider installing a whole-home air purification system to improve indoor comfort. The cooling professional added that even though the intelligent cooling has an air purification system, it would be an added advantage, especially with the recent events. A couple of minutes after the serviceman finished his work, positive changes were apparent, and by the following day, the smoke smell was gone, and we could once more appreciate being in the house. The air purification component was doing a wonderful job.
