I had an allergic issues from raw honey

A few years ago, I was heading to my friend’s lake house on a Wednesday morning! There were certainly few cars around because it was about 8 a.m.

when I was driving… While on my way, I spotted a sign on the side of the road that read local raw honey for sale; I immediately pulled over because I needed a jar of honey because I was all out of it at home! At the time, I had exhausting pollen irritations, and I took honey to help with the symptoms.

Although these claims have not been proven by clinical trials, I know that honey helps to improve my pollen irritations. I know the anti-inflammatory benefits are quite effective. Well, after stopping and picking up the jar of raw honey for $10, I couldn’t wait to get back beach house to try it. That night, I ate a spoonful of the honey as I normally would. That night, I went to bed as normal and the next morning, I woke up and had a major allergic reaction. My eyes were swollen shut, and my throat was so itchy. It felt like I was exposed to everything that caused my pollen irritations to flare up, but of course, I skipped work on that Wednesday because my eyes were so swollen. I didn’t suppose exactly what happened and the only thing I did differently was to take a spoonful of the raw honey! So, I attributed the allergic reaction to the honey. Typically, with local raw honey, I have no flare ups. My conclusion was that the honey was from a honey farm that was not local to the area. After the reaction, I gave away the bottle of raw honey and purchased another one and thankfully, it worked just fine.
