When we go on vacation, my husband and I couldn’t be more different.
My husband is great at relaxing. He gets up when he feels like it. Then he searches for coffee, breakfast and typically eats by the ocean. Then he is ready to do what I want. He will go shopping, hiking or just drive around to see the sights. Then he wants a nice big dinner with plenty of booze and dessert and to go to bed early. That is his ideal trip. For me I am like a frantic squirrel. I get up super early in order to get an hour workout everyday. I have gone for runs, swam laps in the hotel pool or used the on site gym whenever possible. In a pinch I can work out in a large enough hotel room if need be. I even have done my work outs in a patch of grass right by our room window before. My husband will drink coffee and read while I am doing squats, lunges and push ups. After my workout I shower and then am ready to be physical again. I push to do hikes rather than just sit on a beach. I want to kayak rather than sit in the hotel pool. I also want to book excursions like snorkeling rather than a food tour. By the end of the day I am so physically tired I can barely keep my eyes open. After a vacation I am excited to sleep and relax. I go a little too hardcore on being healthy during my trip.
