Sometimes I make bad decisions when it comes to fixing things around the house.
I always feel like I’m able to fix everything myself, but that’s really just not the case. Honestly, the truth of the matter is that I don’t really know how to fix very many things around the house at all. I mean, I know how to fix the ice maker and the vacuum and that’s just about it. I always thought that I would marry a guy who would be great at fixing things, but now I’m divorced. Not only that, but my ex was actually an idiot who could barely figure out how to turn on the microwave without my help. I am now at the mercy of the handymen and local trade workers who know how to fix things like the large appliances and the plumbing in my house. Without them, I think my house would probably end up falling apart. It’s a good thing that most of the time the repairs that I have to have done are not all that expensive. However, last week, I noticed that my heating system was not working correctly and I decided that I was going to try and fix it myself. I just did not want to have to spend the money to get the furnace fixed professionally, and that was a huge mistake. I should have known better than to try and mess around with the furnace myself. I ended up making the problem even worse and I had to pay more to the local HVAC company than I probably would have if I had just called them to begin with.
